The Plan Continued

January 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I don’t know if you make New Year’s resolutions or not, but I don’t… at least not really.  I do think the new year is a natural time to reflect on the last year and the decisions made and maybe to think about how we can make better, or more wise decisions in the future.  In order to choose wisely we need a plan.  A plan to make wise decisions begins with hearing from God on a consistent basis.  Why not sit down and plan out how you will hear from God’s word this year.

There are tons of different bible reading plans available.  There are plans to read through the entire bible in a year from beginning to end, in chronological order, reading from both the NT and OT daily etc.  etc.  etc.  There are plans designed to spend 5 minutes a day in God’s word, there are plans to read through the Bible in 90 days that require 45 minutes (or more) a day reading God’s word.  There are plans to read through only the Gospels in a year etc. etc. etc.

I guess it doesn’t matter to me the plan we choose to hear from God’s Word, pick the one that suits you.  I would suggest one that challenges you, but not so much that you get discouraged and quit.  Pick a plan, or design your own, but decide this week with me to hear from God and His word daily.

Oh yeah, I’ve decided on a very simple read through the Bible in a year plan that calls for me to read about three chapters a day.  Here are a few links to choose a bible reading plan.  There will also be hard copies of a bible reading plan or two in the welcome center at Wallula.
